We hope you all had a wonderful St. Patrick?s Day! I told you in my last post that we were hoping to get a Leprechaun?visit this year and I am very happy to report that the Leprechauns didn?t disappoint us in Greensboro!?Friday night we prepped the house to up our chances of a visit by putting out just a few St. Patty?s Day decorations, including a Guard Giraffe and some faux Leprechauns on the windows. We even used a green hat to set a leprechaun trap!
Saturday morning we woke up to find a lot of silly shenanigans had taken place while we slept! First we found shamrock stickers on our faces (even on the cats!), then we found a trail of gold coins starting in the foyer leading all the way into the kitchen where we set the trap! Unfortunately, the little trickster tripped the trap & managed to escape, but not before eating almost all of the Lucky Charms we had baited it with. Apparently those Lucky Charms weren?t enough for him because he tore into the rest of the box too and left cereal scattered all over the table and even turned our milk green while he was at it! What a rascal! He did add to our decorations by leaving us some more, including some green goodies & crafting supplies, so it wasn?t all bad. And we definitely enjoyed the Lucky Charms & green milk he left behind as well! Lily especially loved them since I think the most sugar-y cereal she?s ever had has been plain cheerios or Kashi granola, lol? (yes, we are those parents who try to feed our kid only the healthiest stuff, even though we sure don?t eat that way ourselves!)
Word on the streets is we weren?t the only family to get a Leprechaun visit! Our nephew & niece over in Winston-Salem reported that their Leprechaun (who they somehow have learned his name is Lenny!) turned all the chairs upside down, hung baby clothes in the grown-ups closet, and?used the potty before he left, but didn?t flush & thus left behind some tell-tale green pee-pee! Talk about shenanigans!!
We hope you had the merriest of St. Patty?s Days. We?d love to hear if your family experienced any Leprechaun tricks this year and if so what your baby, toddler, or big kids thought of them! If you didn?t get a visit this year, there?s always next year? ; ) Till then, we will leave you with one of our favorite Irish Toasts:
